Gender Diversity

Fearless Woman

Founded in 1698 at Jonathan’s Coffee House, and exclusively the preserve of men for 275 years, the London Stock Exchange was considered the City’s last male bastion until 23rd March 1973 when six women were admitted to the London Stock Exchange for the first time in the institutions history.

To mark the 50th year since women were first permitted to set foot on the London Stock Exchange, in March 2022, City Hive launched the year long Fearless Woman campaign which sought to celebrate the widely unknown pioneering women, successes, and breakthroughs that have changed the face of investing over the years.

As well as shining a light on the women of the past, the campaign also celebrated the present Fearless Women transforming the industry, and explored solutions address existing gender inequalities in investing and create a more balanced industry for all.
